Strength and conditioning
Our team are responsible for delivering a world leading athletic development programme and are highly knowledgeable and experienced in a number of areas. In addition to the University's home-grown athletes, the team of coaches also provide service and support to external teams and squads.
The staff has over 60 years of experience between them in over 30 different sports disciplines. They have all obtained a postgraduate qualification in the field and are accredited through the UKSCA. The coaches assist with all aspects of training, from improving specifics like strength, power, speed, agility and general conditioning, as well as working to enhance athletes’ durability and reduce injury risk.
The team operates out of the University’s Powerbase Gym, one of the largest strength and conditioning gyms in the country. They offer bespoke sessions for a wide range of sports and cater for a range of athletes, from beginner to elite.
